There are also small pads you can use to attach to the inde of your boots. Look for those things at the cobbler shop or shoe stores.
At CVS I found "Moleskin Plus padding" it is soft cloth with an adhesive backing. You cut out whatever size and shape you need, and stick it right onto your foot. It stayed on for my whole practice. I will try putting some on the offending area of the skate.
