This is from an email I got from Justice Crone regarding equipment:

With respect to your helmet, you will want something with either the
Snell M-94 or ASTM F1492 rating. These are not derby specific but are used
for rock climbing, skateboarding, etc. They are rated for multiple impacts
and offer better protection than a bicycle-style helmet to the back of the
head. You can get your helmet at the Sports Authority or any place they sell
rock climbing or skateboarding equipment. Victoria does have your elbow and
knee pads on her web site and you can talk to her about that later today
too. Don't forget to get your mouth guard!!! ^_^

If you decide to paint your helmet, make sure that you use a alcohol
based lacquer paint. The alcohol based lacquers will not react with the
plastic shell (usually polycarbonate). Rattle can paints use an oil based
solvent and that solvent can weaken the plastic. Keep in mind that ANY paint
could potentially void the warranty - but so can't a sticker. So check your
user's manual before you do anything to your helmet. This is one piece
of equipment that could save your life.

Should you ever have to get rid of a helmet because it is no longer
safe, be sure that before you toss it in the trash you cut the straps off of it
so that no one else will be able to use it. If it isn't safe for you then
it isn't safe for anyone else to use.

I think everyone is experiencing this in one area or another. My elbow pads are way too big. We all need to sit with all our safety gear and comapre notes.

I want to get outdoor wheels, and realize I need to get bearings, too. What size bearings should I get? 7 or 8mm?

Your Axles are 8mm on your new skates, therefore you will need 8mm bearings. Thw code for our group is MVRG-10 for the roller girl discount
